The Freedom Walk honors Booker T. Washington's walk to freedom through education. He walked over 500 miles from Malden, WV to Hampton, VA and this is the reason the Friends walks today.
Walks at the Park to be held on the following dates: September 13th and October 4th at 9am. There will be some form of healthy information incorporated into these walk times.
We look forward to seeing you there!

5th Annual Friends of Booker T. Washington National Monument
FREEDOM WALK
COME ONE, COME ALL!!!
First on behalf of the Friends of Booker T. Washington National Monument we would like to thank you for your participation in the 5th annual Freedom Walk thus far. We are approximately $5,450 from our goal of $6,600 but donations are steadily coming in. We hope you make yours one of those donations! We are excited to meet and/or surpass last year's goal.
We will continue to host the Freedom Walk every year to not only honor the legacy of Dr. Washington but also because we desire to see the next generation of leaders takes us far beyond our expectations.
How do I to participate in the Freedom Walk?
- Register as an individual OR
- Register as a team (you do not have to attend the walks at the park to participate)
